SWAT VAN Training
Flippo is very proud of its Safety Wellness and Training (SWAT) Van. For the past 15 years, the SWAT van has been visiting company job sites throughout the Washington metropolitan area armed with the latest safety training tools. The SWAT Van is actually a mobile classroom, equipped with a TV/VCR and a climate controlled instruction area. Flippo employees are treated to safety training on a regular basis in the van. Flippo has a training tape library of close to 100 videos in both English and Spanish. Some video titles include: Working Around Heavy Equipment, Basic Rigging Concepts, Protect Your Back, Fall Protection Guidelines, Digging Dangers, Miss Utility - Call Before You Dig, Soil Testing, OSHA Confined Space, and Jobsite Hazards.
Apprenticeship Training
Flippo is also registered as part of the National Apprenticeship Program. Working hand-in-hand with the District of Columbia Apprenticeship Council, we have developed certified programs for the trades of Operating Engineer and Pipelayer. These programs are available to those employees meeting our requirements and willing to commit to a 3 year training program. DC residents are encouraged to apply.
